Open Government for All Residents
Transparent, accountable, and participatory government means that all residents can access information, influence decisions, and share in shaping the future of Scio Township.
To make this possible, the Township must foster easy access to information, open data platforms, regular reporting, citizen engagement, and Trustee leadership.
At present, none of those things is happening. Residents do not trust Township leadership, and with good reason. The twice-monthly Board of Trustees meetings at Township Hall do not foster open communication, welcome diverse opinions, or facilitate exchange of ideas.
If elected, Mark will create a schedule of regular, old-fashioned “Town Hall Meetings” where respectful conversations and ideas can be exchanged, and trust in leadership can be rebuilt.
