Responsible Stewardship of Your Tax Dollars

All Township Trustees have a fiduciary responsibility, a legal and ethical obligation, to manage the affairs of the township in the best interests of its residents. A Trustee must subordinate personal interests to those of its residents, and act with honesty, diligence, and fairness.

Responsible stewardship doesn’t just mean creating and managing practical budgets, following generally accepted accounting principles, smart spending, effective investment, regular reporting, and long-term planning, though it certainly is all those things.

It also means that less obvious wasteful spending must be discovered and eliminated. Lack of competitive bidding for contracts, high employee turnover and recruiting costs, poor employee performance, and increased financing costs are all relevant examples.

If elected, Mark will be watchful and involved in fiscal matters.
